Fear ~ Stress Behaviors

While I realize that to make a sub-category of anxiety or stress behaviors is somewhat of an interpretation, I thought it would be useful to have many of these behaviors lumped together to highlight their potential for indicating a stressed or anxious state in a dog. Stress lowers the dog’s aggression thresholds, and can put you at greater risk. Recognizing the subtle signs of stress can help us communicate better with dogs and keep us safer.

It is also important to remember that all behavior needs context, and for every behavior, depending on that context, meaning can vary greatly.
